Serve 4
I think of this as the perfect sandwich to serve when returning from apple picking on a crisp fall day.
8 thin slices French Boule bread
½ cup Major Grey’s chutney
12 slices of Black Forest ham
4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
2 apples thinly sliced
4 Tbsp. butter
Heat a griddle pan. Prepare the sandwiches smearing the butter on the outside of the bread, placing them on the griddle butter side down. Place a weight (such as a cast iron pan) over the sandwiches. Cook for 4 minutes, remove the weighted pan, butter the tops of the bread and flip them over searing them bread, cook until the cheddar has completely melted. Place on a cutting board slice in half and serve.
